Free DNS filters
Pick a filter, then copy the setting that matches your device. The free filters have no account, no limits and keep no logs.
Die Ratel's encrypted DoH endpoints are live. Router IPs and the Android Private DNS hostname currently point at Cloudflare for Families, which Die Ratel's free filters are built on; they will switch to Die Ratel's own resolver addresses when our own network launches. Either setting is safe to use today.
Family Filter
Blocks adult content and malicious sites, forces SafeSearch, puts YouTube in Restricted Mode, and stops the common ways around a filter: proxies, VPNs and encrypted-DNS bypasses.
- DNS over HTTPS (browsers, Windows 11, iOS profile)

1.1.1.3and1.0.0.3- Router / computer DNS (IPv6)

YouTube Restricted Mode and bypass blocking are enforced on the Die Ratel encrypted endpoint today. Router and Private DNS setups get the Adult filter behaviour until Die Ratel's own resolver addresses launch.
Adult Filter
Blocks adult and explicit sites and malicious domains, and forces SafeSearch on Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo. YouTube and VPNs stay as they are.

Which filter should I use?
- Family for children's devices, schools and churches: it also stops the common ways of getting around a filter.
- Adult for a shared home network where explicit content should be gone but VPNs and unrestricted YouTube stay available.
